A celebration of mystics and poets called “The Sacred Amritsar” is set to take place from March 24 to 26 in Amritsar. The event is organized by Teamwork Arts in partnership with Sleepwell and will be held at the Gobindgarh Fort.
The festival aims to honour the cultural heritage of Amritsar, a city known for its inclusivity and accessibility. It promises to feature diverse activities, such as spiritual music, devotional poetry, heritage walks, literature, engaging workshops, and food.
The festival will begin each morning with performances highlighting India’s musical heritage, followed by poetry readings and conversations in the afternoon. Collaborative performances between national and international artists will take place in the evenings. The event will feature renowned artists like Aparna Caur, Aruna Sairam, Shabnam Virmani, Sandeep Singh and Vipin Heero, Dolly Guleria, Harpreet Singh, Chinmayi Tripathi, Kamala Shankar, Askari Naqvi, and Valentina Trivedi.
Participating authors and poets include Navdeep Suri, Saumya Kulshrestha, and Purushottam Agrawal. Additionally, the festival will have an expression zone called “Numaish: Poetry, Painting, Performance,” where students can engage in creative activities and express themselves through poetry writing, musical performances, and art.
While the morning and evening music events are open to all, a specially curated “Delegate Experience” will offer a two-and-a-half-day package with languid afternoon discourses on poetry, heritage walks across important sites, and the partaking of Amritsar’s cuisine.
I’m delighted to be on board with Sleepwell and Teamwork Arts as the festival ambassador of “The Sacred Amritsar” along with renowned bloggers, Veidehi Gite and Hrish Thota!
